Our Story

  Not Just A Candlemaker

I was once told that everyone has a path that leads to their destiny. Some people hop on the bandwagon, and others fall off. I was one of those knuckleheads that kept falling off. Little did I know, the ups and downs would lead me to create one of my most prized possessions, Curby Candle Creations.

However, I'm jumping the gun a bit. It took alot to get to this point. At eighteen, I joined the military. I have one of those families that being in the military is equated to success. My stint lasted five years before my bradley went off a cliff with me inside of it. I was honorable discharged and didn't know what else there was for me.

After years of suffering from PTSD, my wife discovered that aromatherapy could help ground me in the present.

I'm not going to lie and sit here and say that I completely understand it, but it did work. Something about the scents and process of making candles kept my mind from reliving the horrors I went through. And for the first time in two decades, my mind was a little at piece. Candle making became my escape and my calm.

I thought if a scent, a smell, could do so much for me, why not use my piece to bring it to others? Why not share a little bit of my joy with those around me.

With my wife's help, we created our classic collection and opened Curby Candle Creations.
